i have recently travelled to barcelona and all i can say is i wont be returning. from the minute i arrived i didnt feel safe and was i right. this is a place that you need to go in a big group. i heard about the pick pockets in barcelona and to be careful however i didnt expect it to be so blatant. i saw many people being mugged on the ramblas one of which was me. if you are visiting here you need to be very careful and keep all your personal belongings out of sight. dont carry handbags and dont have any jewlerry on show i got both stolen. its a shame its like this as the city is absolutely beautiful. the ramblas are very nice. hostels are more like hotels very nice. gothic quaters are magnificient and the cathedral is absolutely out of this world. it is definately a lovely place its such a shame i will not return quite a rough place
