Advantages: Simply Paradise on Earth!
Disadvantages: None!
It is hard to describe Beaune as a whole as there is so much to take into the picture for it to come close to be complete. The only way to demonstrate how beautiful this place of paradise is, is by writing an overall review (this one :-> ) of the place and then to write individual one for each attraction! So that’s what I’m going to do. Beaune is very easy to get to, it has one of the biggest motorway cross-roads in Europe on its doorstep, which is used by several tens of millions each year. Yet it is almost like being in the countryside it’s very simply a taste of paradise. The Hotel Dieu hospital alone attracts over 450,000 visitors each year and is one of the busiest of the attractions, but is definitely NOT to be missed. It has a beautiful colourful roof and the tapestries inside are just amazing. The vineyards around Beaune are visited on the train tour which is worth doing as the vineyards alone are worth seeing and can be viewed on the route. We stayed in the Ibis (centre) Hotel which is just on the ring road around the town. It’s close enough to walk into town quite easily and is very handy especially when you visit Marche Aux Vins. March Aux Vins is a wine cellar which allows you to taste about 15 very high quality wines from Des Vins De Bourgogne. Of course large helpings of the wines and not doing the traditional spit into a bucket after each wine can leave you rather tipsy, but they are too nice NOT to swallow. The ring-road itself reminds me of a Formula One racing track, it’s one-way and it only takes about 5 minutes to travel the entire ring so if you miss your turning because your admiring the scenery too much DON’T worry just go around it again! The Notre-Dame has a really nice tapestry of the birth of jesus which is well worth a look. Simply beaune is paradise! I will do my best to illustrate this further in my more in-depth reviews of each a
ttraction!
