Blackpool in the sun? (Benidorm)

Advantages: Lots to do, cheap and cheerful

Disadvantages: bit dated some of the architect, the local shell people watch out

Benidorm? Blackpool in the sun yes or no?

Well for me the first time I went to Benidorm was in November 2008.

We have always put it off because off what as been said about it and what we have heard. But money was tight and we wanted somewhere cheap and cheerful and Benidorm fitted the bill.

We stayed in apartments called Edimar on the main road through Benidorm new town linking old town to new town.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by Benidorm it is not as bad as people say it is. It's lively with lots to do.

I went with my partner, 2 year old daughter, partner's parents and sister and sister's friend. So we had a group of all age ranges and I have to say we were never bored.

The weather was great for the first few days but we did have a bit of bad weather towards the end of the holiday but what do you expect with mainland Spain in November?

One thing to watch out for is the locals who stop in the street playing a game with shells. They hook tourists in then other members of their gang pick pocket so please beware.

There were many clubs with a variety of entertainment on each evening so you have a choice of anything you want including the world famous Sticky Vicky and yes I did watch it well you have to if you go to Benidorm don't you?

Anyway to answer my own question at the start of the review is Benidorm like blackpool YES but better for me and anyway whats wrong with Blackpool?

Summary: If you are after a place with lots to do and cheap and cheerful then Benidorm could be for you
