Bologna is a beautiful city, situated in the north of Italy. If you want to go to Bologna, you have to see the Two Towers. Near the Two Towers, there are the streets : Saint Stefano, Strada Maggiore and Saint Vitale .In the past, they were very important for Bologna: the first two were the most direct streets to go to Florence and Rome, the third was the road of the salt. Bologna has got a lot of places to go to eat very good. In the morning you could go in a Brunch to eat. In a Brunch everything is included: from the cake to the salted, from the cheese to the typical American coffee. The best Brunch in Bologna are: Buon Caffè (Mascarella 1street), where you ... I lived in Bologna for a year and it has become my favourite Italian city. If you want to visit the tourist traps of Florence, Pisa and Venice I suggest you find a hotel in Bologna. Once you've tasted the food there and seen the local sights (two leaning towers and a great food market) you might not even be bothered with the more conventional tourist destinations, which are easily accessible by train from Bologna. That's where you get to sample the true Bolognese cuisine, and if you're anything like me, you'll never want to leave!!! ... Read the complete review

Bologna. I have been twice in Bologna, once was fro concert on the outskirts, the second time for the wedding of my cousin with a guy from Bologna. I had a chance to visit a bit of the City when we went for the wedding, because we stayed there the night before. To be honest with you, Bologna is nothing special, although the centre is nice, but I remember it as a bit noisy. What was very good was the food we had the night before the wedding, and at the wedding. Tortellini are a speciality from Bologna, and you can also have plenty of good cheese Parmigiano and cured meat, like Prosciutto di Parma. What I found nice, are the mountains just out of Bologna, called Appennini. ... Read the complete review

Bologna takes pride in her reputation for being the 'gourmet capital of Italy'. For anyone with a fondness for Italian food, this could well be reason enough to visit. Apart from the ubiquitous 'bolognese' sauce (which, incidently, is never referred to as such.. but is commonly called ragu'), Bologna is also the birthplace of tortellini, and a number of pleasant red wines are locally based, particularly Sangiovese and Lambrusco. Accordingly, there are some lovely cheap restaurants and trattorias around, in the central part of the town. They seem to particularly proud of their reputation for eating well and rightly so, in my opinion. The locals who I ... Read the complete review
