Brilliant for beer drinking, dull for sightseeing (Brussels)

Advantages: Sample over 100 different strong belgian beers

Disadvantages: No sightseeing attractions of note

If you are visiting Brussels for sightseeing, you will probably be disappointed. However, for a weekend of sampling the delights of Belgian beer then Brussels is your place.

First stop (having staggered off the Eurostar) is to head for the Grand Platz. Tacky and touristy I know but why not get some of the bars here out of your system early doors!

Then head away from the Platz to sample bar/clubs. A Brazilian themed bar is a mere 100 yards away as well as a good old Irish bar (usually teeming with ex-pats)

For a altogether upmarket drinking experience head to the suburb of Ixelles. Here you will find trendy bar / restaurants to suit all tastes.

Okay - that's the bars - is there any sights to see? Well, a couple. You could check out the Berlaymont building or head out to the crappy Euro park site with its space age design (which is rusting!). But quite frankly I'd stick to the bars.
