Crowned Review Bucharest - don't overlook it! (2421 words)

Since the fall of the "Iron Curtain", several of the eastern European capitals have become popular tourist destinations. Unlike, say, Prague, Tallinn or Budapest, the Romanian capital, Bucharest, has not enjoyed so much interest. There are, perhaps, three reasons that Bucharest has not caught the imagination of travellers in the same way as those cities. So I looked up hostels on the internet and ...  Read the complete review

I have relatives in Romania and so have spent a lot of time visiting and holidaying there. The most important point for me is to clear up that it is not as bad as people all seem to think it is, I have been back time and time again and that is because I actually wanted to and for no other reason! I have spent most of my time in Bucharest the capital, although I have to say that Romania on the whole has so much to offer, it has fantastic beach resorts, accompanied with brilliant weather in the summer at the Black sea resorts(about 4/5 hours drive by car from Bucharest). It has the mountains and lakes, which are beautiful in both winter and summer. I can ...  Read the complete review
