Bursa ... (2000 census), it is Turkey's fourth largest city. It was known in the antiquity and the medieval period with the name Prusa. The city is known as "Yeşil Bursa" (meaning "Green Bursa") from its beautiful parks and gardens located throughout the city. The city is famous for its ski resorts (on the mountain of Uludağ), the mausoleums of Ottoman sultans, the surrounding fertile plain, thermal baths and Karagöz & Hacivat shadow puppets. It is also the home of some famous Turkish foods, especially chestnut candy, peaches, and a meat dish called İskender kebap.

Bursa is one of the cities I like a lot in Turkey. It is also known as "Green Bursa". Green stems from its gardens and parks, and of course from its being in the middle of an important fruit growing region. It stands on the lower slopes of Uludag. Bursa was the Ottoman capital before Edirne.But, now Bursa is a developing industrial and commercial center with its 1.500.000 population unlike Edirne. Because of its being the first Ottoman capital, Bursa has lots of religious monuments, mosques, and tombs baths.
