CancunNewest Review: ... to take us to 4 bars! When we got ready and went out I was surprised about how Cancun changed from day to night! Cancun by night is probably the most amazing place in the world! It is crazy! Everyone is like your best friend. There are loads of restaurants' in Cancun, lots of "chains" too. We ate in Planet Hollywood which was lovely. There was also hooters which I really ... more |

I travelled to Cancun in October 2008 with my fiancée; we stayed at the Riu Carbie (see my review on there too). It was a great holiday and I must say I really think it was my best holiday ever! We arrived at Cancun airport around 1.40pm local time. It was soo hot! As we was driving through Cancun it wasn't what I expected at all. The streets were quite and there was rubbish on the roads. I was like OMG this isn't like the pictures! Anyway we as we was driving along I noticed how weird it was that you have the lagoon to your left and then the hotels and the sea to your right! It was amazing! When we arrived at hotel I was in complete ... Read the complete review

My husband and I travelled to Cancun for our honeymoon last year. I have never been as far abroad as Cancun, but decided on here for our honeymoon as it looked like a mixture of gorgeous sandy beaches and lively nightlife. Cancun is in Mexico's easternmost state, Quintana Roo, on the Yucatan peninsula. Cancun is located on the Yucatan channel that separates Mexico from the island of Cuba. Believe it or not Cancun is only 35 years old! It started as a sand barrier and then plans began to develop it into the vacation city that it is today. Cancun is a long, thin island that is connected to the mainland through bridges at its North and South ... Read the complete review

Beware, we just came back from Cancun and find out that when you rent a car in Cancun you are buying a big chance to be extorted by the corrupted Cancun cops, even if you are driving just fine; they are making false charges to the tourist and then ask for a big amount of cash... they know that as tourist we don't know the laws and we don't have the time to go after them after the unfair experience. We rented a car and we got stop by the Cancun police 2 times in less than 5 minutes. We got a package to go horse back riding at the beach, At our hotel traveling agency... we told them we rented a car and we want to follow the bus for the activity instead of going on ... Being easy to get to and sunny are far from being my usual criteria in selecting a holiday destination. But that is more or less what brought me to Cancun at the end of July. With just a week to spare, we wanted to get away, recharge the batteries and also be somewhere reasonably lively with plenty of things to do. The journey, arrival, departure~~~ We traveled from our home in Bermuda, which involved a 2.5 hour flight followed by a 1.5 hour flight. A relatively stress free journey especially as we can clear US immigration at the airport in Bermuda and hence make the transit on the way out even less fraught. On the way back, we could not ... Wanted to keep folks informed of the corrupt cops in Cancun. Just spent a week south of Cancun with some family. And while we were there we had a car accident in our rental car. We were hit my another driver. Lond story short. It cost us a total of $700 (a bribe) to be paid to the driver of the motor bike and the cops, to "not go to jail or have car impounded". Scared, we paid the cops, not knowing what our options were. After we called the US Embassy to report this. Unfortunately, we are out ... Read the complete review
