Wanted to keep folks informed of the corrupt cops in Cancun. Just spent a week south of Cancun with some family. And while we were there we had a car accident in our rental car. We were hit my another driver. Lond story short. It cost us a total of $700 (a bribe) to be paid to the driver of the motor bike and the cops, to "not go to jail or have car impounded". Scared, we paid the cops, not knowing what our options were. After we called the US Embassy to report this. Unfortunately, we are out $700.
