Punta Cana ... Cana is an absolutely beautiful place in the East side of the Domincan Republic. It is very much a touristy destination and has a very beautiful beach. I spent 3 months in Punta Cana, as part of one of my modules (work based learning) during university. I lived in a little local town called Beron, but thats a whole different story. Punta Cana is also teamed up with Bavaro, about 10-15 minutes bus ride away from each other. Hotels often class themselves as being in Punta Cana due to its popularity with tourists.
