Advantages: Beautiful architecture and countryside.

Disadvantages: Some travelling involved.

If you visit the Czech Republic, you must get out of Prague. Prague is beautiful, but its an overcrowded, expensive city. Out of Prague there is some lovely countryside and many interesting towns to see.

In the South Bohemia region, down near the Austrian border, is the old town of Cesky Krumlov. Surrounded by the Vltava river (the river that runs to Prague!) it has a castle and an old walled city. Make sure you take a walk up into the castle, it has some lovely wall paintings and a great view over the city.

Its fairly easy to get to by car or public transport, and many tour companies do trips there also. You will notice its a lot cheaper than Prague, but just as beautiful.

Also have a look on the useful tourist website: http://www.ckrumlov.info

There are also plenty of opportunities to hire canoes or boats if you wish. Do sample some Czech cooking and beer whilst you visit, it is well worth it. Also just a short distance away from CK is Lipno reservoir, which is also worth a visit.

Summary: Try somewhere else other than Prague.
