Advantages: Lots to See, Reasonable Prices

Disadvantages: Hot during summer

I live in Summerville which is about 20 miles from Charleston. I have lived here for about 10 years. It fascinates me that one weekend a month, my husband and I can play tourists in our own town and we have yet to see everything.

There are so many things to see and do in Charleston that you could visit every year and never see all to see. The SC Aquarium recently opened in downtown Charleston and it is the best sight to see. The Aquarium was designed to take you from the coast to the mountains of South Carolina. There are a multitude of exhibits of different species. They have many interactive exhibits where you can learn about the species with hands on experience.

Of course, the restaurants are the best and we have many that have won national awards.

The gardens in Charleston and the surrounding area are outstanding. All of the gardens are well kept all year long so you can visit year round.

In addition to Charleston, there are some outer towns such as Summerville and Isle of Palms that offer a small town feeling with great shops.

In addition to having great things to do and see, prices are reasonable compared to other cities that I have visited.
