Chile ... and narrow coastal strip wedged between the Andes mountains and the Pacific Ocean. The Pacific forms the country's entire western border, with Peru to the north, Bolivia to the northeast, Argentina to the east, and the Drake Passage at the country's southernmost tip. Chile claims to a tricontinental country, including Rapanui and its claim on what is called Chilean Antarctic Territory.

Chile is a country of incredible diversity. In the North there exists the Atacama Desert, allegedly the driest desert in the world, with the incredible salt planes. In the centre is the wine growing region, a great place to just meander slowly through trying lots of cheeky little numbers. Then there is the Lake District with some incredible skiing (the slopes aren't as good as France, but the setting is far better - ever skied on a smoking volcano in France? ) If you get the chance go for a few weeks.
