CominoNewest Review: ... is usually termed a 'Character'. These boat trips took you out to view the Blue Lagoon around Comino and the even smaller Cominetto. He then did spectacular, and rather stomach churning runs, in his speedboat. The caves, though spectacular, are no different to the many Blue Grottos you can visit on various Islands around the Med. BACK THEN **************** Malta, Goizo, Comino and Cominetto are a collection of Islands in the Mediterranean. When we visited Malta, in 1991, we also took a boat trip over to Malta's smaller sister Island Gozo and the very tiny Island of Comino. Comino is about one square mile in size. Comino is about half way between Malta and Gozo and, at that time, had absolutely nothing there. Well that's in the commercial sense. What it did have was: A couple of tiny but perfect postage stamp sized beaches. The sand was pristine and pale. This was somewhat of a novelty in this part of the world as Malta has very few sandy beaches. The waters around ... Read the complete review

I came just for a day trip to this island while I was staying in Malta. It is an area of shallow water where the water looks a lovely blue colour and it is perfect for swimming in and snorkling to see all the colourful fish that you can almost touch with your fingers. There is no sand though and the rocks are quite sharp on bare feet, so beware! I lost my wedding ring here, so there may be buried treasure if you go swimming here ; ) If you go don't bother wasting too much time walking round the actual island because it is quite barren, the best thing to do is to look at the beautiful lagoon and swim around. It got quite packed ... Read the complete review

When informed about going to Comino for my summer holidays, it didn’t appeal to me at all. After reading the brochures, I was dreading the prospect. How wrong could I have been? It wasn’t that much short of paradise. Comino is a tiny island in the channel between Malta and Gozo. With the area of Comino a mere 1 mile squared, there isn’t much space for nightclubs, casinos or cinemas, and there are most certainly not. There are two hotels, a tower and a church, and that’s about it. The official population of Comino is a staggering…….8. Those with a religious way-of-life, a priest visits once a week. Police visit once a day, ... Read the complete review

Malta seems to be an island you either love or hate and there is no grey area when asking people their opinion of it, well I’m one of those people who love Malta, or should I say I love the Maltese Islands. I holiday on Malta fairly regularly; it’s my escape from the madness of every day life and a place to go to get rid of all the stress and tension. Every time I go to Malta I discover a little piece of heaven and something I have not seen in past visits. The Maltese Islands consist of three islands, Malta and Gozo and a minuscule islet called Comino, which is found in the channel between Malta and Gozo. Comino measures less than one and a half ...
