Advantages: hot weather, no Bradley Bear!, great beaches

Disadvantages: flight delays, limited luggage

I have been to Cyprus a total of 4 times all B.C. (before children)
Last summer we decided to forget going to a caravan site with Bradley bears or Tony the tiger and opt for abroad.
As a single person, Cyprus is wicked. The clubs are great and there's lots of variations to choose from. Of course Ayia Napa just buzzes, except during the day when all the clubbers are sleeping!
With children on tow though, things were a bit different.
During the day there's so much to do its bewildering but unfortunately our clubbing days were non existent this year as both my hubby and I retired to our hotel room at 9.00 pm.
Nevertheless we had a wonderful holiday again and basically what this opinion boils down to is - you will love Cyprus as a single person or with your children. It caters for both and is very good value.
We stayed at Limassol again as I wasn't brave enough to stay in Ayia Napa with my boys. The beaches there aren't that great so you will need to hire a car and venture to Lady's Mile beach or Nissi Beach for example.
There's also plenty of water theme parks that are just amazing and so clean it puts this country to shame. Pissouri water park I would rate as one of the best (its in Limmasol).
If you get fed up with the beach life and all that swimming then there's always the Troodos mountains. Great for escaping the sun in the hotter months and unbelievable views.
In the troodos you get a taste of real cyprus and how the locals live.
The Cypriots and very family friendly and I found many locals helping me lift the buggy over the kurbs or open doors for my kids (don't get that here very often).
The food is delicious abeit a bit fattening (but so what you're on holiday).
The water is drinkable but I still bought bottle for my children to be on the safe side.
They drive on the same side as us and even their electric plugs are three pin. No converter needed.
So all
in all we had a great time, fantastic weather and the chance to take my boys on a plane for the first time.
Did I miss going to the clubs??? Well hands up - yes I did, but I had my children with me and that was wonderful in itself.
Its not as easy going abroad as it is packing up your car and driving down to Devon, but well worth the extra hassles.
Cyprus is beautiful, guaranteed hot weather and lots of bargains to behold. Go on, make it your holiday destination this year. We will!!!

I nearly said there isn't a waterpark in pissouri (it's only a small village) but then you pointed out where it is. A bit about the cost of living, currency, journey times and travel in cyrus would have been helpful.

Sorry, I have to agree that there should be a little more info. as well. Ofcourse if you add more then I would be happy to re-rate - just let me know!

...and umm, you found the water drinkable?!?! We were told not to drink it, I tried it anyway because I hate bottled water and it tasted bloody 'orrible!
