Durban is situated on the East Coast of South Africa and is really a great place to go if you are a tourist - you get to see the true side of South africa and experience the atmosphere. There are many great places to go and to visit - The nightlife is quite good also. Durban, in my mind one of the most beautiful places in South Africa. I lived there 14 years and that is nearly my whole life. I moved away from Durbs 9 months ago to England. I loved it there, to me this was the place to be. I used to bodyboard both in summer and winter, and the beaches were my second home, just absolutely gorgeous. But we moved away from there because it is really not a safe place to live. So many people close to me both family and friends have been murdered, attacted, killed in car accidents etc. It really is not safe to be living in your home, and even worse on a farm. Young children my age both males and females don't have even the ...  Read the complete review

The city of Durban boasts quite an impressive coastline with white sandy beaches fronting five star hotels and trendy apartments. Durban beach is the place to go if you are ever in the city. It has plenty of side walk restaurants and cafes which serve a variety of international cuisines. There is a mini theme park at one stretch of the beach which features a swimming pool and fun rides. All along the beach front you will find ladies in multi coloured dresses and headgear sitting on the ground selling their ware to the passing tourists. These are mainly souvenirs such as staw pictures, wooden animals, key chains, beads, ebony figurines and other ...  Read the complete review
