Situated on the South Coast of South Africa, where the Buffalo River runs into the Indian Ocean East London is the frontier to the Cape and the beautiful Garden Route. Unfortunately East London it's self is not really much to look at being mainly industrial - Mercedes SA is a major employer and a buisy port to boot. There is a small but very well stocked and run Aquarium on the beach front, home to the coleacanth - once thought to be extinct before a East London fisherman caught one several years ago! Now THATS a fisherman's tale!!! As is really par for the course in South Africa I would seriously suggest that us tourists keep well away ...
