Finland is a country of extremes... in the summer there is sun all night, and in the winter thick snow and almost permanent darkness. The local population are known for being quiet and reserved, and yet if you get to know them they are extremely open and friendly. The countryside is vast and unspoilt with wide lakes and thick forests. In some areas you will find well marked trails with "wilderness huts", where you can spend the nights. In other areas, you may find yourself lost for days without seeing any sign of civilisation if you leave the road! Well you probably guessed it is my home land, so you may think my opinion is biased, well Finland is the most amazing place in the world, the landscapes and scenery are breath-taking. It is not, contrary to popular belief covered in snow throughout the year, the summers are very warm and I reccomend it at any time of year. Helsinki is a beautiful, historical city with alot to see. And Lapland is unforgetable. Summers are amazing, the forests are green, the lakes are warm, Saunas's and of course the midnight sun. I would reccomend visiting Finland to anyone and everyone, you are missing alot if you have not yet been. ... Read the complete review
