Also, watch out for the trams and see if you can discover the crocodile in the river. At night, many of the teenagers of Freiburg can be found at the river banks of the Dreisam, where a Dreisamufercafe can be found. There is also a sandpit here, where families could take their children to play during the day. Freiburg, der schönste Stadt der Welt, or the most beautiful place in the world, as it has been described. Not only is it a very pretty place, but it is also the hottest place in Germany in the summer. I have visited Freiburg twice as part of an exchange with my school, once in year 10 and the second time, more recently in year 12. Both times I fully enjoyed my experience, and although only I was only there for 7 days both times, we managed to get quite a lot out of the region, one of the highlights being the trip to the Europaprk, a theme park not too far away from the city centre. One of my favourite places in the world is Freiburg. When I was younger we used to go on holidays travelling all round Europe in our car, usually staying with Eurocamp, but occasionally splashing out on a hotel. Freiburg was one of the times (and a few times after this) that we "spalached out" on a hotel. A novotel to be exact, we're classy like that. ahem. Anyway, Freiburg is a beautiful city and from the times I've been it seemed to me to be very metropolitan.
