FuerteventuraNewest Review: ... (I won a bottle of champagne in a music quiz one night) Things to do in and around Fuerteventura are numerous. Personally I didn't have enough time (or money) to do all of the things I would have liked to on this visit. I did manage to visit Coralejo on the North of the Island (around 40mins by bus from Caleta) to the Water park - Baku. This was a good day out for the children but beware as ... more |

I have just returned from a fortnight long holiday on the gorgeous sunny island of Fuerteventura - one of the Canary Islands. I travelled with my 2 children ages 10 and 7yrs old, and we all had a wonderful time. I will try to do some justice to this beautiful island in this review. I travelled there on an all inclusive package deal from Thomas Cook at the end of June, and stayed at a 3* hotel - The Hotel Costa Caleta (which I will review at a later date) During my time there the weather was around 38-42 degrees most days and was only slightly breezy most days. As you can imagine this got a little bit too hot at times and you really had to get ... Read the complete review

We stayed here when I was pregnant with my son a few years ago. We visited in November and the weather this time of year was fantastic, clear blue skies every day. We stayed in apartments in the town of Caleta de Fuste, the beach here is man made and is in a horsehoe and it is ok but to be honest we tended just to stay around our apratments for swimming. We visited Corralejo which has an amazing long sandy dune backed beach but it can be very windy here and the sea can have undercurrents here so is not safe to swim in. The town of corralejo itself has some great shops and placs to eat and was a lovely day out. We also went on a jeep ... Read the complete review

Where is it and how to get there? _____________ The Alantis Palace is a 5 star hotel situated in Corralejo, Fuerteventura, one of the Canary Islands. The appeal of the canaries is the weather and especially in the winter when 4 hours flying gets you gorgeous sunshine. I had been to Fuerteventura several times before, but not for a few years. We had booked independently and flew out of Gatwick with First Choice on a Wednesday, although flights operate on a Saturday aswell. The flight is around 4 hours and on arrival the problems of travelling independent became apparent. We had pre booked a taxi with a local company but this just ... Read the complete review

We went to furtaventura in May with Thompson holidays to Jandia - the resourt at the south of the island. We loved the beaches very special and beauful - albit full of naked germans but looking beyond that a very special place. We hired a car - dont bother not worth it not much to see spend your time in jandia. We drove up to the north part of the island - it was ok up there but not much better than the south. They have boat trips to a small island - there is not much to see on the island so i would'nt bother going there - bit of a waste of time really. We loved just walking along the beach to the town jandia from the hotel, you can walk miles ... Read the complete review

The first time I went to Fuerteventura, we stayed in the north at El Cotillo. I wished we'd stayed in the south, as the beaches are much nicer and it's quieter. So, the second time I went, we stayed in the south in Morro del Jable. The problem with this resort for British tourists is that few British tour operators go there, so you may have to book independently, which can cost more. Morro Jable is very popular with Germans and a few Dutch. This is obvious when most of the euro coins you get in change are German rather than Spanish. Germans expect higher standards of accommodation than the British, so if you find yourself surrounded by Germans, you ... Read the complete review
