The plan was to hire motor scooters when at Gozo but on seeing the state of the roads thought better of it and hired a car instead. Roads and driving standards ... more

Fourteen days in April , stayed at Qbajjar bay near Marsalforn in a self catering flat. Weather good, no rain and pleasantly warm like an English summer. Three days of wind in total with white horses on the sea but still short sleeved shirt weather in the daytime. Having now been there have found better and cheaper accomadation (Horizon apartments) which we have inspected look foward to next year even more. Singapore used to be our favorite place until we discovered Gozo this year we even think it beats NewZealand for scenery and the people of Gozo are the nicest anywhere on the planet with a very good sense of humor, got time for you without trying to sell you ...  Read the complete review

Having done a lot of travelling especially around Europe, someone asked me the other day what my favourite destination/holiday was. Although I have enjoyed many, Gozo is probably a strong contender for my favourite. GOZO Is situated in the heart of the Mediterranean and is a sister island to Malta. Many visitors wrongly assume that Gozo is just an extension of Malta. Though it's villages are built in the same honey coloured limestone, Gozo has a completely different feel. Although it one-third the size of Malta, Gozo has less than one tenth of the population. Farming and fishing are the main industries. The land is more fertile and the scenery is ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Gozo: A Wealth of Interest for Tourists (996 words)

Gozo is the second largest of the Maltese Islands, it measures only about 9 miles long by 4 miles wide and although it is a small island there is a wealth of interesting places to visit. Most people holiday on Malta and go across the Gozo for the day and therefore do not have time to fully appreciate what Gozo has to offer. To get to Gozo you can take the ferry from Pieta or Circkewwa on Malta or alternatively you can go by helicopter from Luqa airport, Malta to Ghanjsielem, Gozo. I hired a car on Malta and decided to spend a day on Gozo so I took the ferry from Circkewwa, it’s about five mile across the channel to Mgarr harbour on Gozo. The ferry journey ...  Read the complete review

Having visited most Mediterranean Islands I approached a visit to the Island of Gozo, with all the Hype I had read about its beauty, with the usual degree of skepticism. To say I was surprised is an understatement; the Island is beautiful, if only for the fact that it is about 50 years behind the rest of the Western World. I think that this is where lies its appeal to almost all ages, it is so restful. The local population gets on with their daily lives and, although the income to the Maltese Island comes from tourism, you could say that Gozo is unique in that the tourists are not bothered with the usual gimmicks, knick-knacks and ...  Read the complete review

Gozo is the second largest of the inhabited Maltese islands (Malta, Gozo, and Comino) and a fantastic holiday destination in its own right. If you fly to Malta you can catch a rickety old bus to Cirkewwa and take the car ferry over the blue Mediterranean to Mgarr in Gozo, or splash out on a helicopter ride from the airport. Marsalforn is the most popular tourist resort on the island, and has the highest concentration of hotels and self-catering appartments. It has a small pebbly beach, but better swimming is to be had off the rocks. There are pleasure gardens, a diving club and plenty of restaurants and cafes where you can watch the boats come in. You can ...  Read the complete review
