On 5 December 1997 Greenwich village became the UK's 17th World Heritage Site. It covers a large area. Basically it includes the Old Royal Observatory, the National Maritime Museum, Queen's House, the old Royal Naval College and Greenwich Park. Two years ago I visited the Old Royal Observatory which is famous for being the site of the prime meridian, or 0 degrees longitude . On the entrance wall of it you can see a 24 hour clock and old standard measures of a yard, foot and inches. UK still measures distance using yards, feet and inches.
