I'll forever associate Inch'on with the story of a friend of mine who, having accepted a teaching job in the city largely due to the assurance that he would be given a "beachfront apartment", excitedly gazed out of the window of his new home to see hundreds of dead fish being washed up on a black stretch of sand no more than twenty metres wide.
