The two Iraqi Kurdish National Parties the Kurdish Democratic Party, and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan fought more with one another than they did with the central government. This review was part of a years work for a dissertation on the Kurdish problem in the middle east. You cannot use any of this material for a assignment without the author prior written consent. Whilst Iraqi Kurdish people have suffered because of the fighting between the PUK and the KDP. They also have suffered because of the actions of the Iraqi government, towards them as a people. In recent years about 180,000 Kurds have disappeared, and 400 villages have been burned since the Anfal campaign in 1988. There have also been large scale deportations of the Kurdish population, as well as bombardments of Kurdish villages with chemical weapons and arrests. ... Read the complete review

This is the story of how the war in Iraq has affected my life, and a review of how this war is wrong. My beautiful friend, originally from Iraq, had got engaged to a girl from Bhagdad. Although I love my friend deeply, I was glad he'd found happiness after absolute fear killed his elderly Dad when the American and British army started bombing places around his home. I remember watching TV and the live images of the bombings, while being on the phone to my friend in London making sure he was ok. He was also phoning his family in Iraq, when suddenly the phone lines over there were hit and he lost contact with them. When the connection to Iraq came back, his ... Read the complete review

Yesterday night watching Iraq?s capital city being blown apart with after wave of bombs landing. I sat there in horror watching the live pictures unfold the same way I had sat there in horror watching the second plane crash into the Twin Towers. It came to be then, how ?two wrongs can?t make a right?. If someone does wrong to you, you don?t do wrong to them. Surely, not!. This war is pointless. I?m not anti-American and you don?t have to be Anti-American to be anti-war. This isn?t a war, it?s a massacre. It?s a destruction of a country and for what. To finish a job that Bush?s Dad didn?t at the end of the Gulf War. If Iraq have got these chemical and ... Read the complete review

This seems to be the place chosen to rant about the imminent war and I fancy a go to. _____ The Dreams of The Blue Turtle (1985) by Sting has one particularly memorable song called Russians, whilst driving in to work today the song struck a chord, not just because of its memorable, haunting russian-esque style but because, save a couple of words, the song could be as relevant for our current climate as it was for the political hot bed that was still in peoples minds toward the end of the cold war. For those that haven’t heard it, or have forgotten the words the song sings of the threat and fear of nuclear weapons in the cold war period. ... Read the complete review

Angry Chris, Somewhere in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear, England. AN OPEN LETTER TO THE RT. HONOURABLE ANTHONY CHARLES LINTON BLAIR, PRESIDENT OF AMERICA’S 51ST STATE, FORMERLY KNOWN AS GREAT BRITAIN. Dear Mr President, I am writing to convey my disgust at the alarming and seemingly inevitable march to war currently gathering momentum in the Middle East, with the apparent intent of attacking an old adversary of the West, Iraq. It appears at this stage that a variety of steps have been taken to ensure the smooth handing over of our most elite forces and weaponry to the military “might” of ... Read the complete review
