Advantages: Good traffic, less polution, amazing weather
Disadvantages: Power failure, bad rain water drainage system
If I am to choose a city to live in Pakistan, it is going to be Islamabad. I have many reasons for that. The weather is amazing. Rain, clouds and wind, aided by the greenery, all give the city a very pleasant touch. Islamabad is probably the most well maintained city of Pakistan. It should as it's the capital but still, CDA (Capital Development Authority) is doing a great job in keeping the city clean and beautiful.
One of the good things about Islamabad is its traffic. It's not as messy as it is in the rest of the country. The roads are wide and clean and less crowded. Recently, many underpasses have been constructed, eliminating and crossroads. And more and more underpasses and flyovers are being constructing, leading to more organized traffic and less hustle.
There are many hangouts and eateries in Islamabad. The variety is great, though not as much as Lahore and Karachi. But then Islamabad is a smaller city than Lahore and Karachi. The city is located in a valley and any high altitude point in the city gives you a view of the whole city. CDA seems to have taken a good advantage of that and has made many tourist spots which gives the tourists a breath taking panaromic view of the city. For example, Daman-e-koh and Peer Sohava are the best view points. Another such point is the National Monument. Its architecture is amazing, so is the view of the city.
Living in Islamabad comes with a price. The city is comparatively expensive than other cities of Pakistan. Secondly, when it rains a lot, the roads turn into water channels! I have seen vehicle stuck on the road during rain, half sunk in water. Even though it's the capital of Pakistan, it suffers from power failures just like any other city in the country.
But still, in Pakistan, I would say Islamabad is the best city for living. Less pollution, amazing weather and good people.
Summary: The cosmopolitian city of Pakistan.
