ItalyNewest Review: ... into actual Milan is to go by 45 minute coach journey and with coaches leaving every 30 minutes on average and the two main coach companies charging the same Euro16 return per person, the temptations to give in to the ridiculous prices of a Ryanair flight were too great, and so we found ourselves getting off the coach outside the Centrale Station and into a Taxi for the final leg to our ... more |

If you are generally underwhelmed by tourist attractions all over the world then this is a place where all your previous disappointments will melt away. The main chamber at Frasassi Caves is over 200m high and 250m across. Stalactites and stalagmites sprout forth from all over this wonderful subterranean cave system. It really does look like a stage set out of 'Journey to the Centre of the Earth'. The guided tour took nearly 2 hours and the audio guide was a big help as there were several nationalities within our group. The tour takes you through some of the most spectacular underground scenery in the world. Discovered in September 1971 the Grotti ... Read the complete review

Italy is surely one of my favourite countries in the world! I like Italian men, although I know that they cannot be trusted too much, I like their food, although I know that you need to be careful since you may put on weight, and I like their clothes and shoes, although I know that they do not come cheap! Where have I been so far in Italy? Well, so many places!! Milan is good for business, I used to fly there when I was working with some of their largest corporations. You can find any kind of restaurant in Milan and the smarter you dress, the more you will be like one of them! I love Rome, particularly in spring. ... Read the complete review

Beautiful boys and girls, la dolce vita and some of the world's top tourist sites, such as Capri's Villa San Michele, haunting Pompeii, ravishing Ravello, William Walton's tropical garden and the dramatic Aragonese castle: that's your trip to Ischia and the Bay of Naples. Think of erect volcanoes, grand old hotels, topless beaches, swaying palms, mysterious villas, palatial yachts, and the Mafia. WHO COMES TO THIS AREA? Ulysses, Aphrodite, Tiberius, Michelangelo, Elizabeth Taylor, Henrik Ibsen, Garibaldi, Graham Greene, Krupp, Visconti, Gore Vidal.... Tourists these days tend to be well-heeled, retired Germans who like to do a ... Read the complete review

Latino Does (well, did) Italy A tale of toilet roll and hairy women Back in the summer of 1998, me and a close pal went on a school trip to Italy, as part of "activities week". £230 for a 7 day trip everything covered except spending money. 22 hours we were on that bloody coach, even though I was sitting down for 21 of those hours, it was exhausting. It was so cramped my legs were barely functional when we arrived. We passed through most of Europe, wouldn't be suprised if during the 2 hours of sleep I got that we took a round trip round Greece before getting to our destination. Bus drivers were apes, literally. 22 friggin hours, it ... Read the complete review

Italy is a penisnula, taht is to say a land lapped by the sea on three sides. Italy is a peninsular bot. Unlike most of countries, Italy hasn't a geometrical shape but a shoes shape. What an oddy country. And I'm fond of boots! Let's have a kind of an imaginary trip around the boot. Don't panic! It doesn't stink! I'll be your guide, your Cicerone taking you to the most important cities and regions. From yhe mountains to the sea, passing through mild hills and smooth plains. 1st stage: Sicily. Mafia! Lupara! Cannoli and Cassata! 2nd stage: Calabria. Ndrangheta! Sila and Anonima Sequestri! 3rd stage: ... Read the complete review
