JamaicaNewest Review: ... staying all inclusive as you miss out on all the local food and entertainment and Jamaican culture! It's so easy to use local taxi's to get places as they're so cheap, and it is safe around the tourist areas no matter what they say! So then after the first week, we went off to Negril, here we stayed at travellers beach resort, and honestly we were not pleased with the level of the ... more |

I have recently just come back from my amazing 3 week holiday in Jamaica and can honestly say it was absolutely incredible. I am already saving for the next holiday now. As my parents are from Jamaica, I have a lot of family over there so stayed with my grandparents in Mandeville for most of the time which was great as it's situated in the hills, it's a lovely part of the island. Anyhow, as i am Jamaican, i have the priviledge of trying much jamaican food, and i managed to taste food all round the island as we travelled to Kingston staying at Strawberry Hill in the Blue mountains (must say it was amazing, breath taking views etc.) We also stayed for quite a few ... Jamaica, one of the most alluring of the Caribbean islands, lives as a tourist brochure cliché of tropical scenery and shimmering beaches. Its sunsets provide the backdrop for many a romantic picture and the reported laid back nature of the locals with a ready smile and quick wit portray a happy-go-lucky island. Jamaica is everyone's island in the sun. Unlike its neighbours who cater mainly for the rich and famous Jamaica really is somewhere for everyone. From the private villa with its guarded private beach to the non-stop party resorts where the beach is a party and the water rum Jamaica really caters for all-comers. Go to be pampered at a spa or be ... Read the complete review

Red Stripe beer, Tia Maria, Reggae, and Rastafarianism; These are the things that most people associate with Jamaica. However, there are a number of other things that Jamaica and it's people have to offer. The food is first class, especially in the non-tourist retaurants. With a spicy mix of African, Indian and Chinese cuisine, it will certainly give your pallete something to think about. Coffee is another major Jamaican export. In fact, Jamaica is only 2nd to Brazil in exports of coffee to the western world. When I was there in 1996, I found the people to be friendly enough, but can often be imtimidating to tourists especially when they are ... Read the complete review

Jamaica is a fantastic island to visit. Most people think that Jamaica is full of gangsters, drugs, weed, and ruff necks. But isn’t most places nowadays (cause I know London is). What people need to do is recognise the facts of the country and basically stop being so small minded. At first I was worried about going there, but at the end of my fantastic 6 weeks, I didn’t want to come home. FACTS about Jamaica. *Jamaica has over 153 hotels, plus over 843 cottages. ( I bet you never knew that!!!). *There are no casinos in Jamaica but most hotels do have game rooms. *The water is purified and filtered by the most modern methods. The ... Read the complete review
