Advantages: Dolphin Swimming and Whale Watching on offer! Amazing!!

Kaikoura is a small town on the East Coast of the South Island in New Zealand. It has plenty of independent shops on the high street which helps add to the friendly atmosphere around the place. However, this town has a lot of experiences to offer!

Firstly, and probably my best experince of New Zealand, was swimming with Dusky Dolphins. There is an amaziing centre offering this chance of a lifetime, at a cost! We booked 2 weeks in advance (I definitley reccommend to do this) and arrived for our swim at 4.45am. The staff at the centre were great fun and professional. We were suited with our wet suits, flippers, masks and snorkel and were ready to set out to sea. The boats are fitted with tracking devices and it wasn't long until we cam across a pod of 400 dolphins! We all got in the sea and started swimming with them for about half an hour - we were so close. A totally unforgetable experience!! Not even the freezing cold water could spoil this experience! I still cn't believe I have done it and I couldn't recommend it highly enough!

The second amazing experience Kaikoura offered was to go Whale watching. Again the staff were very knowledgeable and polite and it wasn't long until they were able to track the first of 2 sperm whale we saw. A great picture opportunity came when they splashed back in to the sea. We also came across another pod of dolphins!

There are plenty of places to stay in this town and at night there are a couple of places to enjoy a drink and reminisce on the experiences te day has held! A must stay for anyone passing by!
