Kampinos is undoubtedly one of Europe's little secrets. The largest national park next to a city in Europe, it is within 20 minutes drive (40 minutes by bus) to the west from the centre of Warsaw. Covering 377 square kilometres, this national park hosts a whole range of flora and fauna. 1245 species of plants and 16,000 species of animals (of which 69 and 83 respectively are endangered), unless you are a botanist or avid birdwatcher these details may bore you so I'll just say that the most notable animals are Elk, lynx and beaver.
