Advantages: drink, drink, drink, watch movies during the day, drink, drink

Disadvantages: music goes off unexpectedly when police arrive

Kavos - a brief introduction, Kavos is not that bad as people make out. Iv'e read alot of reviews criticising the smell and to be fair we could not smell the "sewerage" and we stayed for 2 weeks!!! (saying that we do come from Middlesbrough, which has its fair share of 'smog-i-ness')
when everyone is nurturing their hangover the cleaners do a brilliant job and we've witnessed this (strolling around at 6am in the morning)

When a dozen of us arrived in July 2005 we stayed on the edge of Kavos, which is great to keep away from the loud music, not so great when stumbling home. The hotel was top and the cleaners came regularly to clean, however you don't want to get on the wrong side of these cleaners as they do throw alot of abusive foreign language at you.

The sea and the beach is not that bad either and do not see why other people complain as it is as average as any other resort in Europe. You can also hire boats, scooters, quads etc if you get bored. (a little warning though you have to hand your passport over when purchasing a scooter/quad and if you can't pay for the damage then don't expect to get your passport back!!)

The nightlife is good but you soon get bored as they only seem to have 1 cd!!!! (e.g. after 10 days on the island you know what song is coming next 11.53pm insomnia, 11.58 groove coverage) this did get a bit tedious but Futures night club paves the way for something different. The nightclub has seen some top names there over the past year and i'm sure they
will be more in 2006.

also the clubs have a habit of turning the music off when the police go past, this is probably due to the neighbours. Not surprising and i'm sure the Greek police are pretty narked by the English presence.

The touts do angry you after a while as they continually whine on, however at the end of the day they are just trying to earn money.

The food is as you would expect from Kavos, basic and totally different from English food. We spent two weeks looking for decent food but managed to find a restaurant on our last night, which cooked up a smashing dinner.

The girls were great as well (speaking from experience), if your looking to pull then Kavos is the place!! :-D

At the end of your holiday if you feel you have'nt fulfilled your experience then you can find a job there (giving out leaflets, bar work) they will also find you a place to stay, BUT BE WARNED i have heard stories on where you work for a week and then you don't get paid, which is not ideal if your low on funds and can't get out of Kavos!!

Overall it was a great holiday and an eye-opener to say the least

Summary: Overall you have to be careful and respectful to the locals, but enjoy yourself

Hi and a friendly welcome to dooyoo, enjoy the site! --- I've read your report attentively, not once do you mention where in the world the place is. You don't write here for people who already know everything but for the ones who look for information, so it's advisable to start a travel report with some general explanations. Why not read around a bit to get the hang of the site?! Cheers, Malu (travel guide)
