Advantages: cheap living, amazing nightlife

Disadvantages: STAY AWAY FROM FIRE BAR!!Bar promoters can be v.persistent

Having done my research and read countless reviews on Kavos before booking a holiday for myself and eight friends at the end of July, I was slightly apprehensive having seen programes like Faliraki uncovered etc. However, Im happy to say my friends and I were all pleasantly surprised. we stayed at Olympion Village and booked our holiday through Kosmar, which I would defintely recommend as the whole holiday went very smoothly. Apartments were lovely- clean, spacious, air conditioned. Also had a really nice pool and bar, and the staff were all really friendly. Because of this, didn't get down to the beach at all, but I saw it a couple of times and it was defintely not covered in condoms or syringes as one some of the reviews would lead you to believe! Also loads of people comment on the sewage smell, but I have to say although you get the occasional whiff it is strong but gone within a few seconds!
Kavos' highlight is definitely its nightlife however. There is over a hundred bars on the strip, and Olympion village is conveniently placed in the middle. Great ones I would recommend are JCs, for its hilarious DJ, London bar- good R nB n hip hop music, rolling stone for alternative music and Buzz, 42nd Street and Rockys if you just wana dance loads and get hot and sweaty!! For clubs Trinity was definitely the best in my opinion, as it is open til about 7. There are three sections to this club, Atlantis being the main club, then there is a middle bar which is outside with fountains n coloured lights and big seating area which is great if you need a rest and the last one which I cant remember what it is calld but it backs onto the beach which is cool. After bar, which is next to Trinity is also pretty cool as it too backs onto the beach and they have seats and a bonfire and BBQ on the beach.
Admittedly the PR people that stand outside the bars are incredibly annoying, and by the end of the week we jst had to put up with coming across as incredibly rude as we just ignored them all and kept on walking!! When you first arrive they do help get you in the mood and get a feel for the place though, and it is hilarious to see them all fighting to get you into their bar and they will literally offer you any deal on any drinks you want, so once you know where you wana go, make the most of it!!! Stay away from fishbowls and headfuckers- don't get you fucked just make you feel pretty sick and bloated as its mainly just fruitjuice!! DEFINITELY stay away from Fire bar, or the bar without a name as it appears. Its located next to London bar and on the other side of the road from rolling stone. The girl outside offered my friends and I a completely free drink, and when we went in she whispered something to the bar staff who proceeded to make our drinks with her back to us. She then warned us it might b a bit strong as she was daydreaming when she poured the shots!! What we drank was DEFINITELY NOT ALCOHOL, more like lighter fluid. My friend threw up blood from drinking at this bar, and one of the girls who was staying at our resort also went there a couple of nights before and thought her drink had been spiked as she was completely slaughtered after one drink and passed out, threw up all the next day and went to the doctors who told her what she had been givn was definitely not alcohol!!
On the whole however, if you stay away from there, you will have an amazing time!! there is a wide range of food to suit everyone, obviously lots of fastfood, KFC and mcdonalds, as well as loads of greek kebab shobs, (i recommend Bob's opposite Atlantis, the chips are amazing after you've had a few!) The Drunken Squid is fantastic value for money, tex mex and chinese food, (slightly odd combination) but the servings are huuuge, a general fact about Greek portions. All incredibly cheap, you can get a 3 course meal for about 7Euros!
I'd definitely recommend Kavos to anyone who is looking to go away with their mates and just relax during the day and get hammered at night. I was knackered by the end of the week, but it is definitely worth it!

Summary: Had an amazing time, definitely recommend, get plenty of rest before you go!

Hi Sarah, might help your ratings, if you space your review out a bit. Go into edit mode and spread your paragraphs and it will be easier for people to read. Hope this helps. Rachel
