Advantages: Weather, Bars, Cheapness, Days, Nights, the list is endless!

Disadvantages: Not much!

Last year was my first girlie holiday abroad. 4 of us went to Kavos for a week in June. We stayed at Sailors Beach club, a lovely spacious apartment near Players Lounge. There were 2 rooms with 2 beds in each and also a bathroom in each, also with a decent sized kitchen. The pool was lovely and opened right on to the beach, with Yiannis watersports right in front of it. (A speedboat which pulls you along in dinghis - a lot of fun!!) The daily routine was something like this, Get up at 10, sunbathe and lounge around all day by the pool, go for something to eat around 5/6, come home for a nap, get showered etc and go out about 10.30/11ish.
There isnt really any need to go out earlier as people are still eating or getting ready and the strip is dead early on. We normally made our way to Edelweiss then off to Empire (now known as Buzz) then to Atlantis for the early hours, its open till 6am. We didnt really go many other places as we knew the bar staff and the PRs etc. All in all a lovely week well spent.....
So much so that we went back in September, and July this year. However this year we experimented more and went to a few more bars.
After i came home on July 29th, I booked a flight back out for the following week and worked there for 6weeks.
I stayed in workers apartments(10euros a night if you are on your own) behind Edelweiss which were quite small but very nice. I worked at
Edelweiss - a great place to start off your night

JCs - at the very beginning of the strip opposite Legends, quiet bar but very friendly.

Be Free - Good on a busy night because everyone buzzes off each other but I wouldnt advise going in otherwise!

Rolling Stone - Legendary bar! Didnt particularly like working for it but loved going in after work!Headf***ers are lethal here, 9 spirits inc. Absinthe. The front bar played a bit of everything mainly cheese and the back bar played indie.

Pleasures - Near the Barn, to be honest it was quiet a lot of the time (the whole strip was really this year) but i thoroughly enjoyed working here. We were treated like a family and although the pay wasnt very good i loved every minute. The bar for a tourists perspective, I never liked the look of it but along with everyone who went in for the first time, I went back every single night.

Other good bars include, Bonkers, Memphis (although the toilets in there are revolting), Venue (especially with artists such as SlipMatt)

During the day (if I wasnt sleeping!) I'd laze at the caravel pool which had music, a bar, food, and it was free to go there.
With regards to the smell, yes it totally stank, especially when it had been raining but you can get used to it, its not all the time either.
The weather was mainly lovely but in the September months there is a lot of rain, this isnt always a bad thing as the lightning is phenomenal to watch, if a little scary!
In a taxi, it can take around 40 mins to get from the airport (they drive like maniacs!) and the buses can take about an hour/hour and a half.
Hope this helps, if there is anything else you need to know, just ask me and ill be happy to help!

Oh by the way! yes I know the PRs are pushy but they are only doing their job!! I thought "just leave me alone" when I was on holiday but when the situation is turned around, you really appreciate the lovely people who are nice to you. Also I forgot to mention the prices. Every single bar has a promotion on drinks and on the whole the drinks are safe. Avoid London Bar, and Sexy Bastards (previously called Fire Bar) these places put methylated spirits in the drinks

Summary: Give it a chance, its a great place to go and you will want to go back!

Its Kavos, a very small town in one of the many islands in Greece. Kavos is just drinking sunbathing and clubbing and a few watersports and boat trips. but Corfu as a whole is one of the greenest islands in Greece. See the rest of Corfu, it isnt just Kavos

Is there anything to do that doesn't involve either sunbathing, clubbing or drinking? I think I would get bored within a few hours!

Really not my kind of thing. I find going out to get drunk a bit boring - I'd prefer a nice cultural weekend in a city, lol! :)
