Sadly disappointing (Phi Phi Islands)

Advantages: Beautiful

Disadvantages: too many bars, 'massage' parlours, travel agents

Phi Phi is picture perfect. For a room in Ton Sai village expect to pay around 600 baht and 1000 baht for an aircon one. This is quite expensive compared to other places but we found that food and drink was quite cheap.

Loh Dalum bay has powder soft sand and clear shallow waters. There are numerous things to do other than lie on the beach, loads of boat trips to see Phi Phi leh, fishing, snorkelling etc. You can take a walk to the view point and across the island.

Dont expect much sleep in Phi Phi - we had 3 bars near us blaring out music until 5 in the morning. It got a bit unbearable at times, I dont know how the locals can put up with it as you can hear it all over the island.

I think there are nicer places to stay in Thailand. It seems that tourism has gone too far which is a real shame.

Summary: Not my favourite place
