While in kwazulu natal I stayed in the village of st lucia. This is a very good place to stay as it is has great restaurants, it is close to the river and geat beaches. While at st lucia you have to visit the crocodile farm and take a tour of the river on one of the three boats. On the boats you are asured to see hippo and crocodiles. If you are into fishing I would highly recommend going to the local beach of Cape vidal. If you feel like game spotting the local game reserve of Hluhluwe is great as it has the highest population of rhino in the world. KwaZulu Natal is a province steeped in grand history and beautiful countryside. I only visited the area for a week and a half so I do not offer this op, by any means, as being a complete review of the province but as more of a tourist's blinkered impression, hoping it will offer enough incentive for others to explore further than I did. If they do I guarantee they will not be disappointed. If I learned anything on my short trip to KwaZulu Natal it was that places or people with unpromising outward appearances often proved to be gems if you just probed deep enough.
