LaganasNewest Review: ... cheap drinks deals and lure you into their clubs. On many levels I liked Laganas, it is a great night out with loads of clubs to chose from, not to mention the most impressive bottle flaring I have ever seen by topless barmen!! Drinks are cheap with most bars doing some sort of promotional offer of buy one get one free etc. However, my time in Laganas was somewhat ruined by the thuggish ... more |

Laganas is the main holiday resort of the Greek island Zakynthos. Home to many cheap and cheesy nightclubs, it makes for a good holiday destination for young people wanting to party on a budget. Attracting many seasonal workers for bar work and repping, there are always bikini clad girls wandering around trying to attract your attention to hand out the evenings cheap drinks deals and lure you into their clubs. I lived in Laganas, Zakynthos for just over a year, returning home in October 2006. I worked as a decorator and handy man at one of the bigger hotels during the winter and then during the summer season I worked in a restaurant. I am not going to name the restaurant because I do not want to be seen as promoting! Laganas is pretty much the place for single friends to have a heavy partying wild week away - any longer than that and your liver may as well be taken out and stored in a glass jar in vinegar. There was always young kids passed out, outside of a club or bar or vomiting at the bottom of the steps! The Strip (as it is known) is full of some ... Read the complete review

I visited Laganas in Zante (Zaknythos) in July 2008. I had heard some pretty bad things about the town, as a boy was killed when bouncers threw him down some a steep staircase the week before I flew out. We flew with Thomas Cook which was, as always, pleasent as ever. Our group of 6 were 18 so obviously we wanted to have fun whilst in Zante. WHERE WE STAYED- We stayed in the Alexander Hotel (also known as Alexander the Great) around 10 minutes away from the airport and as most places, it was not as described as in the brochure. We were greeted by around 20 teenage drunk teenage boys even though it was around 7 o'clock in the morning. We soon ... Read the complete review

Sitting in the travel agents me and my friend were about to book our holiday, it was between Puerto Del Carmen in Lanzorote and Laganas in Zante. Due to the price (it was only £190) we opted for Zante, and I have to admit I did have some slight reservations as I had never been here before and so was unsure as to what to expect! On arriving at our hotel we were impressed with what we saw, a nice sized pool outside the apartments and the rooms and bathrooms were a nice and decent size, with a balcony that looked over the pool. During the day Zante has as much to offer as other places you can go on holiday to, from watersports, hiring quad bikes, as ... Read the complete review

We travelled to Zante staying near Laganas Beach in May 2001.We flew from Manchester and the flying time wasn't bad at all. As this was a late spring/early summer break we were not sure about the weather etc.Because it was early May we got a 2 weeks for the price of one deal. After we booked friends decided to tell us we wouldn't enjoy Laganas Bay. They said it could be noisy and overcrowded in high season and was becoming overdeveloped . A bit late now but that's the way the cookie crumbles . So with some apprehension off we went . As always we decided to give it our best shot and not pre-judge the place . We have been to ...
