Vegas - a must do in your lifetime (Las Vegas)
Member Name: clairerimmer
Advantages: Pure fun Disadvantages: Trying to exit a casino and annoying casino reps My husband and I visited in November 2008, staying at the very stylish Planet Hollywood. A great time to go, as out of holiday season and during the start of the international credit crunch - Vegas has been hit hard, but this means less queues and less packed streets, especially in the mornings. For example on the gondola ride in the Venetian we had to wait about 10 minutes to go on where as the queues used to be 2 hours long! Vegas for obvious reasons is not the place to go with kids, but for young adults (over 18) it is diffidently a must place visit in your lifetime. The casinos do make it difficult for you to leave the buildings and we did find exit signs very hard to see and exit escalators not working! They do their best to make you stay and spend your hard earned cash. One big point worth mentioning is the annoying casino rep people, they try to give you free spending vouchers, I guess to make you spend more in the long run, but as I wasn't 24 at the time they couldn't give them to me anyway, wasted so much time. There's lots of them and it does get really irritating, so if you are 23 or less tell them straight away to get rid of them. A couple of must do's though would be to eat in the Eiffel tower restaurant (Paris) and to see a show, we saw the cirque du soleil Beatles 'LOVE', was amazing. Summary: An amazing place for a short visit, max of a week. |
