Laughlin ... population was 7,076, and its population was estimated at 8,629 in 2006. Laughlin is located on the Colorado River 94 miles (152.3 km) south of Las Vegas. Directly across the river from Laughlin is Bullhead City, Arizona, which has four times the population of Laughlin and supplies much of the workforce.

I am not saying don't visit Las Vegas , it is without doubt one of the greatest places anywhere in the world , I am just suggesting another option to keep prices down since you can do all the eating in the buffets and all the gambling you want in Laughlin and then spend more time in Las Vegas seeing all the sights. About 90 Miles south of Las Vegas you will come across a town called Laughlin. Started by Don Laughlin who wanted people from Arizona to have easy access to the Casino's of Nevada. Laughlin is situated on the Colorado River Bank and encompasses 9 Large Casino Resorts , all along the lines of Las Vegas but with one massive difference - MUCH CHEAPER.
