Lugano

if you need to relax and unwind,then lugano is the place to go.beside lake lugano,which is nestled between two mountains,this peaceful resort is a whole different way of life. everywhere is so clean,the pavements are hosepiped down first thing every morning,and while i was there,i never noticed a single insect flying around.as their water supply comes from the mountains,you can be sure it is surprisingly ice cold and crystal clear enough to drink straight from the tap. the food is mainly italian and swiss,and is very good. the shops in the centre of town are very good and various,including CandA's,Innovations and Bucheret's(the expensive swiss jewellers)there are ...

I only went to Lugano for a day but that was probably enough to see most of the 'sights' such as they are. It is on Lake Lugano (surprisingly!), in the foothills of the alps in the italian-speaking canton of Ticino. It was a very clean and beautiful city and it seems to be well-kept. As for things to do there, there is a very good (and very expensive - aimed, I think, not at the budget traveller..) array of shops, all major watch manufacturers seem to be very well-represented. There is a strange half-wooden church (it's hard to describe quite what it is like) on the side by the lake. I can't really be more specific about ...
