MaliaNewest Review: ... weren't that many big groups of party goers in the bar til 8am!! At night in Malia , the endless supply of bars, discos and pubs that lead to the sea front, will ensure there's never a dull moment in this resort. Most of the clubs and bars are open until around 4-6am although there are some 24 hour bars as well! There are no huge clubs like in Ibiza but the ones that are there namely banans ... more |

Malia in Crete lies about 20 miles from the airport of Heraklion and was once an old fishing village. There aare great beaches to go to here argueably the best on the island. There are over 3 miles in total of beaches and there are all kinds of water sports which go on from jet skis to banana boats. There are hundreds of hotels and apartments to choose from in Malia. I have been here twice both with my friends and with my better half. the first year with my friends we stayed in apartments above a bar which were basic, with a pool but definitely not for younger fam, ilies or anyone wanting a quiet break as obviously music boomed out until after 6am. Which was ... Read the complete review

Malia is an amazing place to go if you're young (or feel it!) and ready for a week or two of wild antics you will never forget! I went with three girls in August 2008, and we stayed in the Frixos Hotel and Apartments. Our flight was evening, and arrived at around 3am local time. I won't go into details about the hotel, that's for a different post really. We arrived on a Tuesday, and the constant partying left us knackered by the Friday, meaning we slept form 7pm until 10am the next day! Unfortunately we missed the foam party, but there was plenty else to do. The main strip is full of bars, restaurants and clubs, who al want your money! To be honest, we ... Read the complete review

Malia is a city on the island of Crete. Its a popular destination with the young crowd and provides similar experiences to that of the more well known Ibiza! Having travelled there last year on a lads holiday I know first hand exactly what your getting out there! First off only go for a week! Two weeks may sound pleasant but we did that and a couple of the guys were quite ill from excessive drinking and by 10 days I was getting bored with the same thing every night! Basically in Malia there is not much to do other then party hard! If you want to explore the rest of the island there are several travel companies that will arrange the ... Read the complete review

I visted Malia in August 2007 and would definitely recommend it to anyone seeking a quality clubbing holiday. Regarding Malia itself, I would advise against families visiting the destination as it is just not suitable, but rather geared much more towards your typical 18-30s. The area itself is okay, offering basic amenities and shopping facilities, as well as adequate entertainment and restaurants. Personally, we stayed in a decent hotel called the Hotel Mediterraneo between Malia and Hersonissos and whilst getting a taxi into Malia itself each night was a bit of a pain, the hotel was of a very good standard but that was the trade-off as generally hotles and ... I went to Malia last summer (september 2008) on a all-girls holiday. We stayed in the Stelio Gardens hotel in the heart of the town. It was 100m for the clubs, bars and restaurants and 200m from the beach. Despite being so close to all the action it was extremely quite during the days and the only noise heard at night were drunken guests finding their ways back to their rooms. Malia offered some great nights including a foam night at camelot for 15euros each. Not the best foam party but nevertheless it proved to be another successful night. There are tons of restaurants, bars and clubs, and because of this everything is really cheap as they are trying to beat their ... Read the complete review
