I went to Malia last summer (september 2008) on a all-girls holiday. We stayed in the Stelio Gardens hotel in the heart of the town. It was 100m for the clubs, bars and restaurants and 200m from the beach. Despite being so close to all the action it was extremely quite during the days and the only noise heard at night were drunken guests finding their ways back to their rooms. Malia offered some great nights including a foam night at camelot for 15euros each. Not the best foam party but nevertheless it proved to be another successful night. There are tons of restaurants, bars and clubs, and because of this everything is really cheap as they are trying to beat their competitors. Don't be fooled by all the deals they offer though as often they try to rip you out of your money but watering down the alcohol. By mid week we had learnt the places to go and the places to avoid. The bar 'Road House' was probably the best as it lived up to it's promise of not letting us leave until we felt we had our moneys worth. The bars, clubs and restaurants are along a long road which forks, but all within close walking distance of one another. Apart from special themed nights there are no entry fees to clubs so you can easily wonder from one place to another all night long trying to find the best spot. Everyone is out to have a good laugh and the atmosphere is really friendly and easy going. The negatives are the fact some places do water down their spirits and that the PRs are constantly trying to get you to go into their club/bar/restaurant. The beach was alright for the type of holiday it was, the further you go down the beach the nicer the sea and beach is and the less crowded it is.

Overall I had an amazing time and would definitely recommend it to anyone wanting a week of laughs. I did come back exhausted, so don't go if you want a nice relaxing holiday!
