Advantages: Variety of clubs and bars offering cheap drinks prices

Disadvantages: Bar reps constantly coming up to you as you walk down the strip

I visted Malia in August 2007 and would definitely recommend it to anyone seeking a quality clubbing holiday. Regarding Malia itself, I would advise against families visiting the destination as it is just not suitable, but rather geared much more towards your typical 18-30s.
The area itself is okay, offering basic amenities and shopping facilities, as well as adequate entertainment and restaurants. Personally, we stayed in a decent hotel called the Hotel Mediterraneo between Malia and Hersonissos and whilst getting a taxi into Malia itself each night was a bit of a pain, the hotel was of a very good standard but that was the trade-off as generally hotles and accommodation within Malia is very basic. The hotel was all-inclusive and provided good meals and a range of drinks, although the choice of alcohol drink included was fairly limited, consisting only of local beers and spirits.
Malia as a clubbing destination is really good, as a result of the main strip which incorporates a wide range of bars and clubs, all of which are free entry so are easy to come and go from without incurring any costs. The drinks were dirt cheap as well which is always a bonus and you could often negotiate drinks combos with the people who worked for the bars. eg. a beer, a spirit and mixer, a shot and a fishbowl for little more than 5 euros! You must negotiate with these people to get the best delas, although the bar representatives approach you in the street every 5 paces and that does get very frustrating. It is best to find your favourite bars and ignore the advances of other bars' reps unless they can get you an incredible deal!
The variety of music played within the clubs is also fairly large and should cater to most people's needs incorporating, contemporary R'n'B, Hip-Hop, Dance and Garage.
Overall, the place is great, didn't see a single cloud for the whole holiday and the nightlife is buzzing, and that is why I am returning with another group of friends this summer! However, you must have your wits about you and do your best to stay out of trouble because unfortunately fighting and arguments are fairly rife amongst such a large number of drunken youths!

Summary: Top holiday for anyone into clubbing!
