My first experience with Malta was as a child and I had fond, if not a little vague, memories of it. It was with this in mind that I decided to take advantage of a cheap package deal to the small island in the Mediterranean. We only spent six days there and this isn't nearly enough time to visit all the sights that Malta has to offer, so I won't ...  Read the complete review

The wedding in Malta experience was absolutely fantastic and for the most part the whole two weeks away were, but there were some huge negatives too. The Island is absolutely beautiful, there ...  Read the complete review

I booked my holiday in Malta at the Hilton Portomaso resort. After several searches and quotes I found that www.sundreamstravel.com offered the best rates for hotels on the islands of Malta and booked with them. In fact apart from being cheaper they organised everything for me including my flight, transfers and car rental. When we got there we got ...  Read the complete review

Crowned Review Malta: Sunshine, Egg Mayonnaise and Ford Cortinas (2833 words)

Malta is by no means a pretty little Mediterranean island. It's incredibly built up, can be rather scruffy and is quite polluted. Vegetation is sparse on Malta - there are very few trees so it looks rather dusty and dry. But don't get me wrong, there are many spectacular looking buildings and beautiful sights scattered throughout the island. ...  Read the complete review

Malta. The name conjures up pictures in your minds’ eye of big churches; big heat and pretty little fishing boats crewed by ludicrously old men. So, as you leave the airport, the first thing you see is none of these. No: the first thing you see at two o’clock in the morning is a McDonalds sign. The last thing an Englishman abroad for the first ...  Read the complete review

To be fair, I should have done a bit more research before I travelled to Malta. Had I just looked round a little more carefully on the net, I would have realised very quickly that it probably wasn?t a place I was going to fall in love with, and I would also have been warned off the atrocious hotel I was duped into booking us into, the infamous ...  Read the complete review

I went to Malta for the first time for 2 weeks in the summer of 1990. After that I went for 2 weeks every summer and 2 weeks twice at Christmas and the New Year until my last holiday there in 1996 – 8 times in all. It is the type of place that is said you either love or hate - obviously I loved it. I have considered completing and ...  Read the complete review

People - extremely friendly. In two weeks we did not encounter any hassle, or had any contact with timeshare touts. Sea - lovely, warm and clear. Swam every day. Food and drink - good menu at Bel Sol Hotel in Bugibba for vegetarians. Even managed to cater for a vegetarian on a gluten-free diet (not easy). The island's ...  Read the complete review

I have been going to Malta for 20 years. You may think that I'm in my 40's or 50's, but I am actually 27. I have read the guidelines on writing a option on that it should be balanced but in the last few years I have felt the grown need for my opinion to be shared. I feel that although the country wishes itself to be thought as a haven ...  Read the complete review

Going to Malta was a great idea. Going with my brother-in-law and his wife was not. Malta sometimes gets unfairly dismissed as a rather unexotic & unromantic cheap holiday destination by some and, on the surface, first impressions of the island can be misleading. It's a very rugged, rocky place. The foliage is coarse and quite grey in the summer when it gets very dry and dusty. The roads are dangerously bumpy and ...  Read the complete review

We had problems with JMC straight away, the plane was delayed 4 hours, they ran out of landing form's before they got to the back of the plane where we were sitting. There was an unpleasant mix up as our hotel had been changed without us being ...  Read the complete review

I went to Malta on a short break. My mother wanted to go on a break and my step-father said he would rather stay at home so I went. We flew Air Malta which was o.k. but the seats were rather squashed. Then took a transfer minicab to the Hotel Imperial in Sliema. The hotel was very old fashioned with huge columns in the entrance hall and a grand ...  Read the complete review
