MaspalomasNewest Review: ... was endless sand and an assortment of large luxury hotels. Dunas de Maspolomas certainly is a popular place. I have never seen so many visitors parading up and down the sea?s edge like a band of ants. Not being the fittest of couples, we found the walk up the dunes demanding but well worth the effort. Midway along the pathway the area became a lot more commercialised. There were a ... more |

Gran Canaria We like to try different types of accommodation for our holidays. This year we decided on an apart hotel in Gran Canaria. We chose an apartment from the Riu chain attached to a four star hotel. The apartment was well equipped with basic kitchen needs, lounge, bathroom, bedroom and balcony. We wanted to experience the comforts of a hotel, but with the convenience and independence of self-catering. We feel this was achieved quite well. We hired a car for the week previously arranged over the Internet, which we picked up at the airport. On arrival at the hotel, we were met with the utmost courtesy and a glass of champagne then guided to ... Read the complete review

I went on a week long 'girls' holiday to Maspalomas in Gran Canaria in May 2000. I don't know if the area has improved since then, but I certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless you're looking for a loud, booze fuelled, bar crawling type of holiday. It was a lager louts paradise of the worst kind. *** ACCOMMODATION We stayed in a resort a short bus ride away from the beach and the centre of town. The resort was strictly divided between English and German tourists. The Germans occupied one half of the chalets and the English the other. The meals and entertainment were also divided in this way. Germans and English ate at ... Read the complete review

When my boyfriend and I were looking at holidays, we were trying find somewhere that wasn't totally mental and full of hormones and alcohol, but at the same time somewhere lively and fun. Gran Canaria seemed to be just what we were looking for.We booked two weeks in what seemed from the brochure to be a nice clean little complex of self-catering bungalows in Playa Del Ingles. So about six months later we arrive at Gatwick for our flight, excited and raring to go. But this had to be the day that French air traffic control went on strike didn't it. We were however very impressed when our flight was not ( apparently ) delayed at all, ... Read the complete review

It was hell. The family booked a holiday, the usual two weeks, hoping for some sightseeing and rest in the sunshine. What did we get... Well..We started off from our airport in Manchester and was met by our rep from cosmos she was very helpful. We booked in and waited for our departure, and waited and waited. It was then announced that the plane we needed had engine failure and they would be sorting another. 12 Hours later...We were told that the passangers that have front seat numbers can board the plane now in, but thoose at the back will have another 2 hours wait whilst they get a plane from gatwick to manchester. We were in the rear half. ... Read the complete review

Maspalomas, Gran Canaria - a perfect place to spend a week, if all you want to do is lay in the sun for a while, do a spot of shopping, and want the option of spending the night in, or out. I just spent the last week there, what can I say? The weather was beautiful, the majority of people were friendly, and it was lovely and relaxing. We stayed in Green Golf apartments in Maspalomas, right beside a beautiful Golf Course. The apartments slept 3 people, though those with young children could have cots provided. Each apartment was like a tiny house, with a bedroom (with two single beds) and bathroom upstairs, and a small kitchen area and a sitting room, ... Read the complete review
