Many people when learning that I live in Massachusetts ask if I live near Boston. I hear it all the time. I suppose because every one has heard of Boston but I am no where near it so let me tell you about my area of the state. I am located in the Berkshire Mountains in a small city that is near the New York, Connicut and Vermont borders rather wedged in between all of them. It may not sound too exciting but in the city and near where I live are many points of interest that attracts tourists and locals alike. Boston is a beautiful city, small enough to walk around most areas. I went in early summertime when the weather was warm but not too hot, in the middle of summer it can regularly be at least 90 degrees. There are many historical sites such as the boston tea party and numerous monuments. Highlights in my opinion include the observation deck of the Hancock building (better view than the prudential building), duck tours (tour vehicles which drive around the city and then plunge into the Charles river and sail up the river with spectacular views of the skyline) and quincy market, a colourful if somewhat twee daily market. New York is one of the best and greatest cities on this planet., Everything is really good value for money! Im not there now! Takes neally 8 hours to get there by plane and immigration is a little scary other than that you have to go!
