You'll Never Want to Leave! (Melbourne)
Member Name: Kate Grimwood
Advantages: Sights, Shopping, Atmosphere Disadvantages: A bit hot in summer
I spent 4 months here, working, whilst travelling round Oz. Its the best place I went to! The atmosphere is so much more relaxed and friendly compared to Sydney. There is so much to do as well. If you manage to get there in summer you can go to the Australian Open and Grand Prix, there also seems to be festivals nearly every weekend - Moomba was particularly special. Williamstown and St. Kilda are must see beach suburbs. For neighbours fans, you can go and see the street, just hop on a train to Nunawading and get the bus from there. Theres also a Neighbours night where you can go and meet the stars. Shopping's great too, Chapel St. and Brunswick St. are the places to go for unusual and bohemian style shops. Of course, Melbourne's famous for its restaurants and the selection is enourmous! An hours drive from melbourne is the spectacular Mornington Penninsula, with beautiful beaches and activities such as strawberry picking and dolphin watching. There is also Phillip Island with a very cute Penguin Parade and a Koala conservation place. I had the time of my life here, and I am seriously considering emigrating! Summary: |
