This is pretty unfair of me as what I'm about to write probably bears no relation at all to the modern city of Minsk, but here goes anyway... on Minsk as I remember it from 1975 when I was a member of a group of 4 students from Salford University who went there to study Russian from October to December. The journey Having crossed by ferry to Ostend on the coast of Belgium we boarded the Moscow train.
