Disadvantages: HOT HOT HOT in summer. Wasn't quite prepared enough for that one.

I bloody love this place. It's so beautiful, the council REALLY cares about tourism so there's LOTS of stuff to do in Summer. Estivals with wine and cheese tasting, tourist train, TONNES. Gorgeous to walk around. Not bad hotel prices. Touristy food places aren't half bad. Lovely lovely shops. Kind people. Easy going, relaxed town. Good transport links to Paris and Spain. Nice beach, great GREAT airport. Travel time from London Stansted was around 1.5-2 hours. Excellent. However Ryanair was damned expensive - will go with Easyjet next time from Gatwick.
Countryside beautiful, rolling hills and mountains. Very fun.
EXCELLENT bus network. Could not praise it enough for ease of use and regularity even on a Sunday.
The mall is large and spacious, very modern. Take a visit to the bookshops, there is one large second hand one and the obligatory main one in the shopping centre.
I recommend getting a Kiwi gilato ice cream from the square with the statue in it - you'll know where I mean when you find it! I've been addicted to the stuff ever since.

Summary: lovely. can't wait to go back.
