Newest Review: ... Many of the shops here specialise in local goods and handmade crafts. The town's other main attraction is Mystic Aquarium. Although we did not visit,it appeared to have all the usual exhibits from sea lions to killer whales. Like many New England towns, Mystic thrives on it's history. The town is often referred to as Mystic Seaport, but this can be confusing as the major tourist attraction here bears the same name. Mystic Seaport - The Marine Museum of America (to give it it's full title)is actually 3 attractions combined into one. There is a 19th century village of tall ships and historic buildings, exhibitions and galleries and a shipyard where original wooden boats are still built. To cover all the attractions would take aprox 4 hours, so make sure you have comfy shoes. If you like shopping you'll love Olde Mistic Village. This is an outdoor shopping area ...
