Situated on the mid-west coast of Portugal, Nazare beach is a picture of true beauty. It's not a famous tourist spot, which makes it all the better to visit, as it's not hoaching with tourists, and has a real authentic atmosphere about it. It's famous among the Portugese, because of a miraculous legend that is told about a steep cliff face overlooking the beach. The story goes that many years ago, a horseman saw a vision of Mary Magdalene on the edge of a cliff face which stopped him riding over the edge and to his death.
