New York is a city where anything can happen, and most of the time everything is happening somewhere within its boroughs. Manhattan Island is the city centre and where most, but by no mean all, things of interest are. The city is literally bursting at the seams with culture, both institutional and that of multicultural life. A good subway system and the simple grid layout of streets make for the whole city being easy to navigate.
